Old Daddy Fairbanks is responsible for discovering Clay, a bit of a colorful discovery. It is said that while watching an Indian Squaw wash her hair, he noticed how shinny and silky her hair was after. And she simply pointed out a hill where she got the clay that made her hair so nice. Mr Fairbanks promptly filed a claim. The Oil Industry was in it's infancy, but this clay was highly desirable in it's ability to keep their well drilling bits from seizing up. The whole aria was quickly claimed up by Oil Companies and Prospectors alike, but this was where it began, Clay Pit Number One. And so we enter the second chapter of this properties roll in history.
